Detecting Respiratory Pathogens: A Comprehensive Panel for Viral and Bacterial Targets
Our respiratory pathogen panel (RPP) rRT-PCR testing can be performed on a nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) or nasal swab.
This assay can accurately detect multiple respiratory pathogens simultaneously.
The various targets that can be detected with the respiratory pathogen panel (RPP) assay include influenza A, influenza A H1 [A(H1) and 2009H1N1], influenza A H3, influenza B, respiratory syncytial virus A & B, parainfluenza 1-4, coronavirus 229E, coronavirus NL63, coronavirus OC43, coronavirus HKU1, human metapneumovirus, rhinovirus/enterovirus, adenovirus, human bocavirus, Chlamydophila pneumoniae, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
Specimen requirements: A nasal or nasopharyngeal swab from the patient, contained in a tube filled with ~3 mL of Universal Transport Medium (UTM) or Viral Transport Medium (VTM).
